Do Not Blanket Your Horses in Winter

You may think it is a good idea to blanket your horses in the winter. Since you give your horse extra water in the summer to keep cool, then giving them a blanket to stay warm should have a similar effect, right? The Soul of a Horse has a blog that explains why that line of reasoning is not necessarily correct. Horses are adapted to handle the cooler weather, so draping them with a blanket interferes with this ability! With winter approaching soon, please share this post with your friends so they will know not to blanket their horses during those colder months.
